Diesel Engine & Support Systems Certification
The two-day Diesel Engine Certification Program focuses on the Standards-based material that should be considered as part of any diesel engine installation. Specific areas of consideration are electrical, galvanic corrosion issues, ventilation, fuel system installations, battery installation, exhaust systems and engine controls. The program consists of a thorough review of applicable ABYC Standards: A-24, Carbon Monoxide Detection Systems; E-2, Cathodic Protection; E-10, Storage Batteries; E-11 (with material exclusive to DC systems); H-27, Seacocks, Thru-hull Connections; H-32, Ventilation of Boats Using Diesel Fuel; H-33, Diesel Fuel Systems; P-1 Installation of Exhaust Systems; P-4, Marine Inboard Engines and Transmissions; P-6, Propeller Shafting Engines; P-14, Propulsion Control Systems; P-24, Electric/Electronic Propulsion Control Systems; TH-22, Educational Information About Carbon Monoxide. The Standards review will be followed by a question and answer period relevant to the "experiential" based material found in the ABYC Engines Study Guide. The comprehensive Diesel Engine Certification Exam will follow.

Note: This course is preceded by our 3-day Basic Engines course. There is a discount if participant attends the full week.
